What is a Computer?

A computer is a machine. It helps us do many things. We use computers every day.

A computer has two big parts. The first part is hardware. Hardware is the parts you can touch. Like the screen, the keyboard, and the mouse. The second part is software. Software is the programs inside the computer. You cannot touch software.

Computers help us write, read, watch videos, and talk to friends. We use computers at school, at work, and at home.

There are different types of computers. A desktop computer stays on a desk. A laptop computer is small. You can carry it with you. A tablet is even smaller. You can hold it in your hands.

Computers work very fast. They can do many things at the same time. They save our work so we do not lose it.

Today, computers are very important. Life without computers is very hard. They help us every day in many ways.
